Spanaway Lake High School senior Kyle Muna has been accepted to Cornell University! “Something really spoke to me about their diversity statement, and their focus on creating very well-rounded individuals who want to do good in society – just really giving back to the world,” he said. “And that’s my goal as a person. I want to do as much as I can for other people.”
Muna moved to the Bethel School District in the 5th grade. He attended Evergreen Elementary and went to middle school at Cedarcrest. Before kicking off his high school career at Spanaway Lake, Muna decided to spend his freshman year going to school in Guam. “I have a bunch of family there, and I wanted to get to know my culture a little more.” He returned to Spanaway the following year.
Muna has been very involved at SLHS and is currently serving as the ASB President, and vice president of the National Honor Society. “Spanaway Lake is so diverse,” he said. “That’s really my focus here, making everything more inclusive, and finding different ways where we can include more people into activities.”
