School Board discusses key issues

The Bethel school board recently held a joint meeting with the board of directors from the Franklin Pierce School District. This meeting offered an opportunity for both school boards and the superintendents to discuss key issues with current and newly-elected state legislators. The most pressing issues for both districts included fixing the levy cliff, fully funding McCleary, enhanced school construction funding, and reducing teacher shortages.

There was also some discussion about changing the supermajority (60%) requirement for school construction bonds, as well as concerns about homeless youth and our recent school siting issues.
