What a great start to the year! Our students have done a great job modeling responsible behavior all last month! This month our characteristic trait is trustworthy, please help us by having conversations with your kids about trustworthy behavior at home and other places!
We have some exciting ways to recognize students' achievements this year. First, CBA- Classroom Based Awards are awarded to classes that exhibit our character traits around the building. You can see how well your child's class is doing by looking at the mountain display in our front hallway! Once a class reaches a certain number of CBA's they get to climb up the mountain! This year our students are off to a great start!
Additionally, we have two ways that students are recognized as individuals. We have CIA - Character In Action Award and Rock Star of the Week. CIAs are award to individual students who are showing us expected behaviors. Each week, the student's CIA is entered into a drawing and a winner from each class receives a prize from the Principal!
Finally, we have our Rock Star of the Week. One child from each class is awarded for an academic achievement in the week. These kids receive a trophy that they display on their desk, a certificate and a picture with the Principal or Assistant Principal. The picture is displayed on our website and in our hallway for the week. Parents are notified by the teacher if your child has been selected as Rock Star of the week so be on the look out!
I am looking forward to sharing more of the exciting things our students are doing during conferences! See you soon!
